Im 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant this day. My Midwife suggested I try sex and walking. Has any one actually gone it to labour after having sex or strongly believe there labour was bought on by having sex? Will my labour begin minutes or hours after and what part of sex gets the labour going? x

It's not JUST sex. It is you having an orgasm and hubby having an orgasm inside of you. Your orgasm stimulates your uterus and contracts you uterus which may bring on labor. Your husband's semen softens up your cervix which prepares you for delivery. I did this 3 times in one day and went for a walk. Once I came back my mucus plug came out and I started going into real labor. Baby boy was born 36 hours after the first time I had sex.

When you are ready to give birth your body naturally produces prostaglandin which helps soften your cervix and hence bring on labour.
Semen also contains prostaglandin so can help soften your cervix more and bring on labour.
There’s also a theory that the contractions from an orgasm help….

Yes, it's true, THere is a chemical in semen that’s the same chemical that a woman produces when she's in labor even though we produce a lot more of it. THis chemical helps to soften your uterus and helps in dilation (the uterine contractions from an orgasm help as well, of course.)
Labor will happen when the time comes - there's no way to determine a length of time. It could be right after or not.
Yes, I’ve done this and I feel that it helped a lot - especially in the last month and both my kids came 2 weeks early - lol - so I guess that's my proof!

Sex is ggod for labor brcause the sperm release prostaglandins which make the uterus contract. This happen so the sperm can get faster into the falopian tubes but in your case it will make your uterus start the role of giving birth!!!! Two of my friends have sex and thier babies came the same day. So I guess it really work. Walking also help. I did for my sister. So good luck and get your hubby to bed right now!!!!

some say it works others state it doesnt i think it all depends if baby is ready to come out i tried all the old wives tales mulitple times an they didnt work for i went 10 days over my due date an luckily went into labour the mornin i was due to be induced,but hey if it doesnt work think of the fun u'll have coz it will be a while befor eu get any after the baby is born

Yes it can if baby is ready to come as the sperm contains chemicals that can induce labour. Also try a nice hot bath as hot as you can stand it before hand or after for good measure worked for me.

Contractions started strong and fast 3 hours later. by strong and fast i mean lasting 30 secs and only 2 mins apart…
