also at how many weeks were you told the sex? and were you told the same at other scans?

Answer:
My best friend had her general anatomy scan done at 18 weeks, was told it was a boy. She started to lose weight at the end of the pregnancy so they did another scan. It showed a girl.

She had a girl.

Answer:
I'll definitely be checking back for the answer. We were told at 20 weeks that we're having a boy. I'm now 25 weeks along and paranoid that they might have been wrong, lol.

I won't get another ultrasound until we do the 3D/4D scan on our own.

Congrats and good luck!

Answer:
My sister and then on second was them told she was having a girl and had a boy??

Answer:
i wish it happened to me.

Answer:
It's more likey to go the other way. Saying you're having a girl then it being a boy is more common.

Answer:
This happened to some good friends of ours (after her baby shower to boot!) at around 34 weeks when it was discovered baby was a girl, not a boy. She went through a grieving process because she had created a persona for her son and now he was gone. However, that doesn't mean she doesn't absolutely adore her daughter, it was just a shock at first.

PS: Love your avatar! LOL

Answer:
ultrasounds aren't that accurate for predicting sex of babies. Something seen between legs can quite easily be the cord. Wouldn't a surprise be nice ???

Answer:
Probably

Answer:
its more likely that you'll be told you're having a girl and really have a boy. i think thats really rare.

Answer:
I was told throughout my whole pregnancy that i was having a girl… everytime i had a doc appt they did a sonogram and i was told everytime i was having a girl. my doctor said " its not like your baby is going to change sex on you in the middle of your pregnancy, you're having a girl"… so my baby shower was all pink stuff, and my best friend who was having a baby at the same time as me told me to WASH EVERYTHING so what did i do? i washed everything and got everything ready for when my "daughter" came home. so i went in to be induced… 18 hours later i pushed my baby out… and all i could say was "is that a penis?" i started crying… I HAD A BOY!!!!!!

all i could do was cry (i was really happy cause i really wanted a boy so bad and now i got one) but it was the fact that everything at home was pink and for a girl. my whole family got a big kick out of it… thank god my family went out that evening and bought a crap load of boy stuff

for future advice… get neutral colors!!!

but for me it doesnt matter, and next time i dont want to know what i am having cause now i have clothes for both sides haha

Answer:
They usually tell the sex at 20 weeks and they take lots of pictures so it's likely that they do get it right. The only way you should worry is if your baby doesn't have his or her legs open and they can't really see. but most babies have their legs wide open so the picture is not off by no means! However they do have the new 3-D ultrasound which can have done at 30wks and I'm sure it can confirm the odds.

Answer:
Hi, not personally, but a friend of the family was told at her 12 week and 20 week scan that she was having a girl and then gave birth to a boy…

Rather sad, but due to being told she was having a daughter, she got everything a baby girl would need in pink and got the nursery ready, once she gave birth it took her 6 weeks to accept her son as her own, she was mentally affected and could not accept that she had a son rather than a daughter…

For this reason I would NOT recommend to anyone to find out the sex of their baby, I personally wanted to but this experience changed my mind..

Obviousally, this is not the case for everyone, a friend of mine found out she was having a girl and true to the scans, 2 days ago she gave birth to a Healthy Daughter…

Answer:
Well it happened to my boss and his wife. They were told it was a boy and she came out a girl. The reason is the vulva of a girl is swollen so much sometimes that it looks like a penis.I would feel sad if that happened to me.I'm supossed to be having a boy but who knows….I may have a girl.I don't mind either one don't get me wrong. The good thing is that at least girls can wear blue fine but boys don't always look that great in pink.

Answer:
When my mom was pregnant with me they told her she was having a boy but I turned out to be a girl. That was 24 years ago though and technology has changed quite a bit. If you get a 4d ultrasound you get a perfect pic of the genitals as if the baby was already born.

Answer:
I am 38 weeks pregnant with a boy and due to complications have been having scans every two weeks for the last twenty weeks and they have all come back with boy it is very unlikely to be told you are having a boy and it turns out not to be as it is very visible to even the untrained eye when its a boy, you find out at 21-23 weeks in the UK.

and if your really worried then leave the tags on and keep the receipts.

Answer:
I was told at 18 weeks I was having a boy. It was very :ahem: obvious that it was a boy. He kept showing off his "manhood" in about every angle possible.

It's more of the other way around, being told it's a girl, and turns out to be a boy.

Good luck!

Answer:
They thought my sister was a boy but nope she's female…

Answer:
I was told at 18 weeks i was having a boy then i went back at 21 weeks and she said "no, looks like it's going to be a girl" i was so confused i still don't really want to buy a lot of girl stuff so i went to get a 3d ultrasound and she said it's a girl too…now i just have to wait 8 more weeks and see what my baby really is!!! best of luck to you

31 weeks

Answer:
Yes I was told I was having a boy when I had a scann done as well as every one telling me that i was having a boy as well and ended up having a girl instead

Answer:
With my first pregnancy I had two ultrasounds confirming I was having a girl. I bought all "girl" things, washed them, and then when I delivered it was a little boy. I am now pregnant with my 2nd child and just had my first ultrasound saying it was a girl. I cant go through what I went through before so this time I will have a 3d ultrasound done. It is 99% accurate. Im just crossing my fingers it really is a girl this time.

Answer:
my parents were :)

Answer:
