For my 14th birthday i really want a tatoo on my arm…i really want a little star but evryone sas they hurt like hell on the bone but not so much on flab (lol)
what would you suggest??xxx
Answer:
Yes, they still hurt, just not as much because it takes less time to finish them. And they don't tickle when there right on the bone. I have 11 myself.
Answer:
Depends on where they are. It hurts but the pain stops as soon as the needles are off your skin. Some hurt, some don't - it has nothing to do with "how close to the bone" it is, BTW. It's all about nerve endings. (The tat on my boob killed; the tat on the top of my wrist barely hurt at all.)
Take it from someone who got 6 tattoos between the ages fo 15 and 16: you will almost DEFINETELY not like the tattoos you pick out at your age when you are an adult. Wait.
Answer:
yes. the outline is the most painful part. it all depends on where you get it, how big, and your tollorance to pain. i started to fall asleep after 15minutes because i had grown used to the feeling.
it is going to hurt, it is a needle injecting ink into your skin, but the end result is worth it.
Answer:
At 14 you wouldn't be allowed a tatoo from any reputable tatooist. Personally I would leave it a couple of years - I wanted a tatoo when I was 15 but my mum forced me to wait until I was 18 and could legelly get it and by that time I realised I wouldn't want it as it would be there forever.
But to answer your questions it will hurt almost equally wherever you get it and if it's small it will hurt just the same just for less time!
Answer:
i have one on my spine on my lower back and it didnt hurt all that much you can bare it at least i guess your pain tolerance also plays a huge part…
Answer:
yes, feels like your skin is being opened with a scapel but as soon as the gun is raised off the skin it does not hurt. Take some support with you
Answer:
you're too young….
you'll cry like a baby.
Answer:
flab ,bone, its all the same. the pain of a tattoo doesnt discriminate against how much fat or lack there of there is on your body. it is true, smaller tattoos are quicker so the pain time is limited.
you should wait for your first tattoo…..you have four years to think out what you want to get. plus i dont think any professional tattoo artists will tattoo you if you are under age.
Answer:
i suggest u don't get 1 cos it will b there 4 the rest of ur live ,, unless u have it surgically removed , by a laser , which costs allot , oh an also they do hurt my mum has had 4 , so don't get 1
Answer:

Answer:
Wait untill your 16 sixteen at least , it hurts like hell.
Answer:
Yes, it does hurt, a lot. The outline hurts more than the colouring in. 14 is very young to be getting a tattoo … I think you ought to wait a bit - whatever you get will be with you forever, after all! I'm not sure they will even do it at your age to be honest (and there's a reason for that!)
Good luck though, if you do decide to go ahead…
Answer:
its only the outline that hurts.doesnt matter how small it is the outline will kill you.
Answer:
Oh my god people! There are more than 4 versions of this question posted in the last 2 hours! How about just reading the answers from other questions instead of posting the same one over and over!
Tattoos are a sharp needle gouging your skin and depositing ink at a rate of 50-100 times PER SECOND.
Yes, there will be pain. How much depends on how you tolerate it. Low pain tolerance and even the simplest tattoo will have you crying like a baby or passing out. Some people get the most sensitive parts of their bodies tattooed and find it completely bearable. I nearly dozed off while getting the small of my back done.
Pain is part of the experience.

Answer:
I think 14 is a bit young–give it some years and then if u feel like u want one–do it! It is painful but not tolerable.

From Newsweek:
Part of the experience of getting a tattoo is not knowing in advance how much it will hurt. For some it can be a terribly painful procedure. Others describe it as simply irritating, a "hot scratch" that is easily forgettable compared to the pleasure of wearing a work of art. If you want a tattoo but have a low threshold for pain, opt for fleshy spots like the thigh or bicep. The most painful places are generally the areas with a dense concentration of nerves or wherever the skin and bone are close together, without a layer of fat in between. Unless you go to a doctor for "permanent makeup" tattoos (like eyebrows) rather than a design, you won't get much help with the pain, says Charles Zwerling, a Goldsboro, N.C., eye doctor who specializes in permanent makeup (he uses local anesthesia). Only a doctor can give you a shot of painkiller, and tattoo artists often avoid numbing creams because they require 20 minutes or so to take effect and can prolong the procedure. Like the tattoo itself, pain is personal. What one person finds excruciating might be quite bearable to another. But since you may not know what your tolerance level is until you actually go under the needle, here's a short list of the most potentially painful places for body ink: Eyeball, ribs, behind the ear, top of foot, genitals
Answer:
Its not the size of the tattoo that hurts, its the needles.
Look, you are far too young to get a tattoo, however mature you think you are. If you really want a tattoo, then at least wait a couple of years.
Answer:
14? i don't think reputable tatooists will tattoo you at that age. if they do agree to, then they're clearly not reputable and whatever tattoo you get will hurt and may not be done proffessionally.
Answer:
I would suggest that at 14 you're way too young to be having a tattoo! It is illegal under 18 and any tattooist willing to work on a 14 year old would be of very poor quality and your tattoo would be very dodgy to say the least. You would also run the risk of catching something really nasty because you can bet good money that they would not be taking any notice of hygiene rules either.
Wait 'til you're of legal age and you will be able to choose a good, reputable tattoo studio. Always choose one that has been recommended, rather than picking one at random.
Answer:
yes they still hurt, big ones just hurt for longer, 14 is really young though, you need to remember you're stuck with this forever, always have them somewhere you can flash off while your young but cover when your old (just in case you regret it by then) also think of your wedding day, lovely classy dress, you don't want the image ruined by a star on your arm you can,t cover up because you're a head strong teenager. i waited till i was 21 before i had my first, i wanted to wait till i found something i really liked an was timeless, what 70 year old wants winnie the pooh tattooed on their arm? i have 7 now, all easy to hide in jeans and a t-shirt and i waited for ages mulling them over, this is not something to go onto lightly! Xx
Answer:
You are way too young to get inked. Any reputable tattooist wouldn't touch you with a barge pole. So wait until you are older.
As for the pain, everyone has different pain thresholds. I personally sit for 5 hours with a 20 min break but I have suffered worse (bearing two kids)! Getting tattooed is a controlled pain. You can stop it any time you like so I reckon this makes it more bearable.
In my own experience, I find the first few hours bearable and then the pain starts to kick in as I am putting one part of my body under a huge amount of stress. The result is always worth it though!
Yeah - it hurts more on the elbow for example, but don't choose where you want your ink based on how painful it will be. If you are serious about your tattoo, get it where you really want it because you should be willing to suffer the pain to get the best end result that you'll never regret later on, wishing you had placed it somewhere else.
Also, tattooists are the best source of advice, so don't be afraid to ask (when you are old enough of course).
If you are serious about this you really should wait. I planned my first project for years and it has been worth the wait.
Answer:
of course they still hurt a would wait til your 18 until you have matured before getting a tatoo
Answer:
No matter how big or small the pain is still the same, just for less time if smaller or less detail. Tattoos hurt.
