the beautician doesn't change the wax, I’ve asked in the passed if the wax is changed and they’ve stated no because if they keep changing it, it would cost a fortune, and I am sure I saw a programme a while ago saying it must be changed for each client because of hygiene reasons, am I right? Thanks for all your replies. x

Answer:
The law is that individual pots can be used OR the applicator must be thrown out after each use (it can only be dipped once). If they are double dipping then get a new waxer.

Answer:
Hello. I’m a waxer and nursing student, and when I took microbiology a couple of summers ago I asked my teacher about microorganisms in the wax. She said to me that unless I was adding water to the wax pot, nothing would be able to grow in the wax because the wax is not a growth medium for microbes. So just to clarify the issue–nothing, including HIV, or Herpes can grow in the wax–unless your beautician is adding water to the wax.

I’ve been waxing people for nearly 9 years and have never had ANY problems with clients getting infections.

Just make sure your beautician washes her hands and wears gloves while performing the service!

Good Luck!

Answer:
Once the wax is put on, they rip it off with a cloth, and then discard the cloth. So the used wax doesn't go back in the melter.

Also, after some looking around, the wax is kept at a high enough temp to kill bateria. Around 120-150F.

Answer:
i would check the health regulations in your area

different countries handle it differently

i would google the area you’re living in and the words HEALTH REGULATIONS or HEALTH INSPECTORS

it will get you to where you need to go

Answer:
LOL; That’s a good one. Where’s the wax from anyway ? Other humans! Okay, so they melt the wax off from people and bottle it for someone else, or do they melt it off your body and put it back on again? … Good one …

Answer:
there's some questions to their doing…

when melting the wax, how hot do they go? because heat kills bacteria…

do they desinfect the applicator after each client?

if not, you SHOULD change your beautician…

Answer:
of course they dont change the wax everytime it WOULD cost a fortune. you are not supposed to use the same dipstick over and over again.

Answer:
I think that rule only applies to Tattoo studios where they’ve to change the needles for each new victim.

Forget bikini waxing all together OUCH

just get it lasered off for goodness sake!

Answer:
Don't they use a different waxing tool each time though? The wax doesn't need to be changed because each time they dip in it they use a brand new stick thing.

Answer:
Sounds scary. You may wanna find another beautician.

Answer:
I've been to a lot of salons and they all have said the same thing. They reuse the wax but they're not supposed to “double dip” the applier/stick.
