I'd get something that will represent her as a person and not just as a baby. She may be a baby now but as you care for her she will grow and change. I think a tattoo that implies growth, change, and the life-long bond you’ll have as a family.
I think a tattoo of a beautiful tree, maybe with a letter S on the trunk. The try is a symbol of a long life and growth. It is also a beautiful symbol of nature and the world you and Sarah are both part of. The tree could look natural or stylised in an ethnic, tribal, or artistic way.
Answer:
How about just her name, and sat inside an outline of her hand or foot, prehaps with her date of birth - so that you'll always remember how tiny she once was!
I suggest if you do this to get a pencil and paper and trace while she's asleep
Answer:
How about holding the baby in your arms and having someone take a picture of you both. Take the picture to a good tattoo artist and have him make up a tat of the baby being nurtured in this way.
