Up until yesterday I’ve been too scared to ever get a tattoo, but I went with my boyfriend and watched him get his second tattoo done and its just made me change my mind about it completely. Hes going back on sunday to get it finished and to get another one on his wrist and I really want to get one too. The tattooist offered my boyfriend numbing cream for the next one hes getting done. So now I really want to get it done, but I don't like pain so im going to see if I can get the numbing cream too, but will it stop it from absolutely hurting? How much would you state it hurts? I want it at the bottom of my back by the way.

Thanks

And sorry for the long essay about it lol

Answer:
dont get the numbing cream, its a waste of money and a scam by the tattooist everyone i know who got it for their first tattoo said it was exactly the same when they got their second tattoo without the cream. Tattoos dont injured too much as soon as your adrenaline kicks in you dont feel it too much and you get used to the feeling. Where you want to get it isnt in the worst of places, the most painful places are apparently your ribs and under your arms and your ankle.

hope this helps.

Answer:
There’s NO pain free way of having a tattoo, unless you are unconscious. Numbing cream will only take the pain away from the first layer of skin -the epidermis. As soon as the needles penetrate into the underlying tissue it WILL hurt. And when the needles hit the bone YOUCH! Different parts of your back will have different levels of pain. Fatty parts will not injured as much as muscly and bony parts.

You’ll just have to bare the pain. Remember, no pain no gain.

I wasn't scared enough to use numbing cream, and trust me i was pretty scared once I got to the shop. I have a tattoo across my wrist, and it felt like cat scratches that just keep going and going. Not to painful, and when he filled in the tattoo, it was painless , basically. I think because of the outlining it somewhat numbs the area after a certain amount of time.

hope i helped

Answer:
I'd say tattoos aren't that bad at all. Once your endorpins kick in and you get used to the feeling of the needle you'll be fine. It's not like its jabbing all the way through you, it's just hitting the first layer or so of your skin. If you can handle getting piercings or getting waxed then you should be just fine. It kind of feels like your being pinched over and over. You should try the numbing cream if you feel enjoy it. Either way it shouldn't be that bad.

Answer:
I’ve a tattoo on my hip and one below my neck kinda between my shoulder blades. Any way neither of them hurt. It's a different kinda of feeling. There's nothing else that feels the same. It's kinda like a scraping feeling. Plus after a few minutes your skin starts to kinda numb its self. You get used to the feeling after a tiny bit. As long as you don't consider what's actually happening time goes pretty fast and isn't too bad of an experience.

Answer:
I've had a few tattoos done and i find that the areas that are more fleshy hurt more, the back of my neck and my shoulder i felt hardly any pain, in fact on my neck was rather pleasurable, the only ones that actually hurt were on my hips/stomach.

Answer:
Take it like a champ it doesnt injured that bad. geeze. i have one on the top of my foot.. and thats a sensitive place. honestly its going to injured 10 TIMES WORSE AFTER YOU GET IT DONE then it will when you are.. so deal with the pain and prove to your boyfriend your a beast.

Answer:
it only hurts guys, not gals so you got no fear, no woman has ever complained about pain & tattoo's to me, in fact they get pleasure from it, you have been listening to ya b/f to much

Answer:
Mine wasn’t too bad. You mite actually want to speak to a friend of mine, called Vix, who re-did the one on my arm, and put the Apple tatto on my chest. I’ve put her address in the link section.

Answer:
your having a piece of metal pushed into your skin over 10,000 times…The cream just dulls it a bit but theres gonna be pain trust me.

Answer:
Use the numbing cream and you won't feel a damn thing! Go for it!

Answer:
I think using numbing cream is perilous, you are supposed to feel pain, it is your body's way of protecting itself, I mean, the artist could do damage and you wouldn’t know it, it's really not that bad getting one done without numbing cream, I would state it's about a 4 on a scale of one to ten. Feeling a little pain is part of getting the tattoo, it's all part of the experience and I think you would be cheating yourself and missing out on the whole thing. I think that you’re building it up in your head to be agony, when in fact it isn’t agony at all.
