I’m waiting to attend my gynaecologist now in 3months to begin clomid to try and help me conceive. I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 mnths ago and Ive been trying for a child with my partner for 2 yrs now… Is there any way to try and fall Oreg without medication like Weight loss etc..Have you any success stories to help me feel more positive as Im very depressed about this, its beginning to really get to me!

Answer:
Don't get depressed. I know how overwhelming it is, especially with the lack of education and assistance from your doctors. They're just there to force pills down your throat as a band aid fix, they don't seem to generally care about your health.

YES! There are plenty of ways to conceive naturally. Losing weight the right way will help control your insulin resistance, which will postitively affect your hormones and help them regulate, therefore helping regulate your cycles and ovulation.

I posted TONS of articles about diets/weight loss, herbal/natural remedies, etc. to help those with PCOS — check them out here:

I'd love to post all the info here but there’s too much for one answer! Please feel free to contact me (my email is on the blog) if you’ve any other questions. I am here to help you…..

I needed clomid to conceive due to PCOS after trying naturally for 3 years. However, there are certain things you can try to do to increase the likelihood of natural conception. The first is diet. Think about getting a nutrition book specific to PCOS (Amazon sells many). One problem with PCOS is that many (though not all) women with it are insulin resistant and certain foods increase weight and worsen symptoms.

The second thing is to begin a regular exercise program. For many women with PCOS, even a 10 pound weight loss is enough to help regulate menstrual cycles and ovulation. Soulcysters.com is a nice website to connect with others and find more information about TTC with PCOS.

I wish you all the best!

Im on my sisters account at the moment, but basically i tried 3 years with my ex partner having found out i had pcos, all the physicians told me was lose a bit of weight and exercise, but when you really want a baby you don't want to listen because you think it will take too long to actually do any good, but im eating my words because last year i got into a catering job, which is an extremely active and vigorous job with an early start, and was eating a bit healthier, im now 29 weeks pregnant, when i missed a period i assumed it was the pcos messing with me again, but was gobsmacked when the test said positive because id actually got to the point where i didn't believe id ever have a baby…

I really believe the physicians were right, i didn't really lose much if any weight, i just changed my lifestyle..

Your time will come eventually and you will appreciate it so much

more when you do fall pregnant, good luck x

I have PCOS and have had it since I was 13. 10 months ago I had baby without any treatment. I fell pegnant only 3 months or so after trying. BUT this second one I’m trying for seems to be harder and Im starting to believe it is because I still have baby weight. When I fell pregnant 1st time It happend right after I lost weight and got to healthy weight.

I think that being healthy weight helps a lot and also not smoking and drinking alchol. Im going to weight watchers now to try to lose this baby weight so that hopefuly it gets easier to concieve again. All I have the ability to state is keep having intercourse every 3 days if poss and your chances get higher

good luck

I was diagnosed 2 days ago with PCOS and have been TTC #1 for 3 months. I’ve done some research through google and the only thing I’ve found other than medication is to lose weight, eat and drink healthy, and exercise. Once my physician told me I have PCOS and that it could take us 6 months to a year of working together to get my hormone levels balanced and that I really needed to lose a lot of weight (I'm not what most people would think about obese or really fat, I wear like a 13 but my doctor stated I’m obese. talk about a punch in the stomach!) my husband and I both became serious about eating healthier. As soon as we left the doctor's office we went to the grocery store and bought water and fruits and vegetable. Try to cut out all caffeine because caffeine can also hurt your chances of getting pregnant. I

Hi ya,

I have PCOS (not long found out) and I have been ttc for also 2 years this month. Yes I concur with you it is very depressing.

I would have to say that I i don't really agree with some of the posts on here. Reason being is that I have no syptoms of PCOS what so ever. I am the right weight for my height (always have been). The only thing that suggested I have PCOS is that of a blood test and internal scan.

I’ve been on clomid and undergong fertility treatment. However there will be a time when they might stop clomid and as I’ve nearly completed this cycle. I’ll ask the physician what can i do to help me conceive naturally.

I think that some women are very lucky to conceive naturally and never give up hope.

Maya Abdomianl Massage. I was ttc for about 17months with no success and then I came across MAM. It helped me conceive baby #2 in one cycle. I’ve since become a practitioner.

The first women I helped with achieving pregnancy was a patient with severe PCOS. She was on the pill since age 13 and had come off it at age 28 to begin ttc. She tried for nearly a year, the whole time using a fertility moniter. Getting frustrated at this point, she made an appt with her gyne. Meanwhile, I did MAM with her. By the time her gyne appt came around, it was to confirm pregnancy!! She got pregnant in two cycles with MAM and is due in Feb.09!!
