I went to the doctor 2 days after my AF was due and she took a test which was negative, 2 weeks later (which was yesterday) I purchased a test and it was positive.
Now the thing is that just over a week before the negative test at the doctors I had pink discharge then brown for 4 days and she stated it was prob a drop in hormones and it was highly unlikely I would get pregnant this time because of it, but I did. What does all this mean, it's just very confusing, did this small bleed happen to anyone mid cycle and then they found out they were pregnant? Was everything ok?

It's not implantation bleeding because that only lasts at most a day and is red. The most likely cause of the discharge is dried up blood which was expelled from the womb during the last period and got stuck in the cervix until later. However it seems that you had rather a lot of it, so it could have been a light period. Occasionally you can get a period that resembles what you describe. It's very difficult to answer questions that use abbreviations I don't comprehend. What’s AF? I'll assume you mean 2 days after your period was due. If in fact your period was due then, and your cycle had not been thrown out, then you have to believe the neg result. Two days after due date would give a pos result if you were pregnant. Since it also sounds as if you had a period a week before, that fits since you would not expect to be pregnant at that time. Now, you’ve got a pos result, so that would see you getting a positive result 3 weeks after your period. If you’ve a short cycle, it's possible, and it's also possible with a longer cycle if you ovulated earlier than normal. It does happen - that's how many unwanted pregnancies are caused.
The bottom line is that false positives are very rare. If you got a positive result then you’re pregnant, and don't worry about the discharge.

Well this does sound like it may have been implantation bleeding so I would advise that you make another appointment with the drs and explain that you have now got a positve result on a pregnancy test. You can request this to be confirmed by a blood test and they can then repeat the test in a few days to ensure that the hcg in your system is doubling in order to make sure.

I had a small bleed (brown) the month I got pregnant with my son. I thought it was my period starting, but it only lasted a few hours. I still had sore boobs, cramps etc though, which was odd, so I did a test and got a BFP. Everything was fine and I now have a beautiful 21 month old tiny boy!

a couple of day after implantation, normally 7-10 dpo.. the blood was more than likely spotting!!
I would go back to your physician with the positve test and request a scan to see whats going on in there…. sounds like your preg to me…. if you’ve a positive test after a negative with slight bleeding that is quite normal!

That mid cycle bleed could have been implantation bleeding - it is very common! Around the time AF is due, hCG levels are around 25, which is what most pregnancy tests will detect. But as it doubles approx each 2 days early on - you only need to be a day or two later than “average” with ovulation for a test not to pick it up. That’s why a test taken later can then pick it up.
I suggest from here that you see your Dr and ask for a blood test for hCG levels to be done. This will help confirm your pregnancy, and ensure that the levels are rising as they should be. But all sounds great - congratulations!
