i play a lot of sports and my sweat can really stink (lol!!) so i asked my mom to get me some deodorant but she says it's not a great idea because it blocks up pores and thats not very good for the underarms because the skin won't be able to 'breathe' properly…
anyway, is there any other way to get rid of the smell or are deodorants not that bad after all?
Answer:
mate…your mum is right.
Deodrants clog the pore's of the skin and are made up of chemicals which in truth, are 'foreign' to your skin.
If were meant to smell of jasmine and roses then we'd have been created that way.
What you need to do is shower/bath regularly - especially after you've completed a sport activity.
I don't know about the norm, but I'd sit down first , re-hydrate a little bit and let me body temperature cool down (only during hot scorcher months). Once you're a bit dry - hop into the shower and scrub down with normal bar of soap. Then one more time slap a generous amount of Mens Shower Gel which has a strong fragrance (plenty on the market mate) and wash your body down proper.
Tip , massage the gel around your neck and chest as that place will emit the fragrance more than state, your crotch.
Once thats done - dry yourself with a towel and put on some fresh clothes. Wait a few minutes and spray a small amount of deodrant, at arms length away - aimed under your pits.
I don't use deodrants either - did in my early-mid teens but I out grew them and fast realised they were a load of b0ll0cks.
Your natural body odour carries pheromones anyway, they’re way more powerful than the odours of a deodrant - more than you could ever know, trust me. A suitable mate will pick up your scent and decide if youre 'mating material' or not. Trust me.

Pffttt! Your mum is so wrong! I'm 14, i play a lot of sport and deodorant is my GOD lol! Anyways it will all come off when you shower and your sweat will go then just pray some more on. If your mum wont purchase you any, just go and purchase some yourself. Its only deodorant, its no biggy, your mums a bit silly stopping you, my mum made me use it lol.
Answer:
There's no real evidence to show it causes big problems. Just use it in the daytime then have a shower before you go to bed and don't sleep with it on. Try using the 'roll on' deodorants and not the spray ones.
Answer:
Deodorants don't do that…and even if they did who cares if you have pimples under your armpits…who is going to see them anyway? Unless you want to stinky and smelly i would advocate getting some…deodorant isn't bad for you.
Answer:
there is nothing wrong with wearing deoderant. i started when i was about 12 or 13, and i purchased teen spirit. it smells really nice and its made for the younger generation of girls who are just starting to use deoderant.
Answer:
That is the same thing my dad stated to me. He was like
“It is stopping a bodily function.” Yeah, that's what it's supposed to do. You don't want sweat all over your close, embarrassing.
Answer:
OK antiperspirants block pores, even then it is doubtful if this is a health hazard, deodorants don't, they’re basically just scents.
Answer:
Deodorants and anti-perspirants both are applied to the skin under your arms. Neither causes problems with the skin “breathing”.There is no basis for this in fact.
Answer:
Yes use deodorant especially if you play a lot of sports,
It's either smell and sweat or unblocked pores. Sorry..
