i am going on holiday and my period is due how can i stop it.? can i just go to the physicians and ask them for something to halt my period?

i was going on holiday and i went to the physicians a couple of weeks before and i got 10 days worth of pills to take that were to be taken 3 times a day…but i think they will only let you if its like a one off and you wont do it loads or whatever…oh yeah and you have to begin taking them like 3 days before your period is due and then about 2 days after you stop taking them your period will come or something like that…and i think they start with 'N' im not sure…
but it was really annoying for me i am irregular and i was going to take them but then the period before completed like a week before my holiday so i didnt take them then i got my period like 3 days before the end of the holiday so early enough for it to be a complete inconvenience but late enough that i wouldnt be able to take the pills coz if i did they wouldn’t stop it in time for the end of the holiday!! so annoying..

go to your local GP and ask for some tablets to stop your period they will give you 90 tablets enough for 3 weeks if you need more just ask =] you’ll need to take 3 a day 1 when you wake up 1 at about 5 o clock and 1 when u go to bed and it will stop your period each day as long as you take them but dont worry if u forget to take a tablet like i did aslong as you dont miss all 3 tablets for the day ull be ok =] hope this helps x x x i took these and they worked (p.s once you stop taking the tablets your period will start as normal again)

NO, you CAN'T really stop it. And it's natural, so I WOULDN'T reccomend those birth control pills where you only get 4 periods a year, because, what if you're pregnant, you wouldn't know for sure for several months, because on that pill, you only get your period each 3 months - it's NOT natural!

The only way you can stop your period for any particular date, is to have been on the birth control pill for at least a month before, so you can plan. I did that so I could plan my wedding day/honeymoon out. The only other way you absolutely can stop your period is by getting pregnant…which is something I'm sure you don't need right now!
