What are your thoughts on the coil?

Hello all

My girlfriend is thinking about have a coil inserted. She has been on the pill for the last 3 years and would like a hassle free approach to not getting pregnant.

I am just curious to hear your thoughts on the coil, does it have any bad or good symptoms? any pros and cons? has anyone had any bad experiences? i just want to hear from ppl who have had it done and if it is a good idea?

My girlfriend has also been suffering with a high blood pressure, which might be caused by taking the pill! so would she benefit from changing to the coil?

I’ve had a coil for 2 years and it has been a godsend. I had irregular periods, pain and a miscarriage on the pill but since I had the Mirena inserted, I have had no periods and touch wood, no problems!! Its uncomfortable whilst being fitted and your girlfriend may have some irregular bleeding for a few weeks after but I would say go for it!

I’ve never heard of the “coil” but i'm sure of you google coil reviews tons of reviews will come up for you to read.

Not sure on it these days. But years ago when I had one fitted, I got pregnant. And also got pregnant on the pill.
